In April, twelve days after my heart surgery, I decided to take the dogs and have rest up in Nevada at Washoe Lake campground, near Carson City. A little less than two hours from home.
Camping at Doran Beach in Bodega Bay California
On October 24 this year Kate and me and Charlie hiked out to Loch Leven lakes. We went via Lake Valley Reservoir
On October 2nd Kate, me and the dogs ventured up to the coastal town of Fort Bragg and MacKerritcher State Park for four nights. A four and a half hour drive.
My last camp at Jackson Meadows for this year.
This year’s “birthday hike” also referred to as the Fall Creek Mountain hike was on 9/15/2018, a windy fallish Saturday. Weather was clear but cool so no swimming this time.

Kate, the dogs, and I took the 2.5 hour drive to Wrights Lake in mid-September. The last couple miles is a very narrow road making it impossible for two cars to pass without driving off the road.
Right after Labor Day, I went up to Jackson Meadows by my lonesome (no pups) for four nights. Very peaceful. Fished, kayaked, read in my hammock, watched a couple of movies, and hiked around the lake.
